Websites are connected together by language, graphics and text and when all parts work together they create interactivity for the user.

A website consists of HTML code; which creates the language of a website. HTML is an abbreviation for “Hypertext Markup Language”; the official language used to make up the pages of a website.

HTML gives web builders the ability to create links that connect to other pages within a website. Those links are called “Hypertext Links”. All of these elements collectively make up what we call the World Wide Web.

HTML has become so sophisticated, that expert programmers can program the language to create interactivity with the user through hypertext links. Each time you click on a link you are taken to a different page with different content.

This interactivity is only a snippet of what HTML coding can do.

It also has the ability to incorporate video and images into web pages creating a different kind of interactivity. You Tube is a great example of interactivity on a website.

HTML can also  be used to tell search engines the purpose of a particular website. Inside each web page is a section called Meta tags which are structured to communicate with search engines. Search engines can determine the purpose of a website after reading the websites Meta tags.

The data entered in a Meta tag give search engines specific information such as the title of a web page. Description Meta tags also help reveal what the web page is about.

Web page Meta tags also give keyword instructions to search engines. Descriptive  keywords instruct search engine robots how to file web pages into an indexing system.

When a surfer types in keywords that match, the search engine serves those pages to the person searching.

HTML elements are invisible to anyone viewing a fully rendered web page. The language actually works behind web pages and cannot be seen unless you view it’s source page. If you want see what HTML language looks like, right click on this page and select view source. The HTML code will be revealed.

Website anatomy also consist of written content for each page that consists of words and images strategically placed on a web page to convey a message. The written content on the visible side of a web page is made up of  text that works in tandem with HTML coding.

Websites are HTML pages  filled with content that are programmed using HTML coding that create hypertext links that lead to other pages. These pages create interactivity between people using graphic images, text and video.

All of these elements make up the anatomy of a website. Each component part plays a role in the making of a website.
